The Platform

The BayernHistoryApp

This page explains how to take part. The archive itself is the app: there, the contributions appear on the map of Bavaria, exactly at the places the stories are about.

The Theme Section

“Erzähl doch mal” in the app

The theme section “Erzähl doch mal” (Tell Me About It) is the participatory collection of personal stories from Bavaria. It has been growing since 2026. What emerges in the conversation sessions becomes permanently accessible here:

  • Located on the map, not in a directory
  • Editorially designed: audio, video, photography, text
  • Free of charge and ad-free

The Cycle

The app as a storytelling prompt

The cycle closes when the finished app content itself becomes a prompt again: a historical photo of a place or an audio recording from the app can open new conversations in the next conversation session, including in other municipalities or families.

This creates dementia-sensitive formats that family members and caregivers can use in their work with older adults.
